Kentucky Foster and Adoptive Parent Training Support Network

Serving the Following KY Counties

Peer Support

Network team members are experienced resource parents who have dealt with complex issues surrounding foster care and adoption.  Their training equips members to provide peer support and psychological first aid.  Confidentiality is maintained in all communication.

 
 

 

    Recruitment

Network teams also help recruit new DCBS homes and find permanent adoptive homes for waiting children.  Resource parents make the best recruiters for other foster and adoptive parents.  Network teams are able to apply their own personal experience and skills to this vital task.

Parent Training

Network team members provide training to resource parents from a parent's perspective.  The focus on parent centered training is based on the understanding that increased knowledge and awareness are major keys in helping parents reduce stress and prevent child placement disruptions.
